STORY:
My first job in tech was working for my older brother Evan Gilbert’s software company called Autoscore!
It was a software program designed to allow people to do PITCH recognition and transcription to PC/Mac etc…
AUTOSCORE!
It was in El Cerrito and I would trek up there daily and fill the orders and man the phones…
Sheeeit. This must have been way back in like 2003 or something.
It was a decent program – I don’t know that much about PITCH and never even used the thing – But I most certainly do have EXPERIENCE in MUSIC SOFTWARE and know DAMN WELL THE FRUSTRATIONS!
So AutoScore from Wildcat Canyon software – Evan had deals to integrate with like Steinberg / Cubase etc…
And things just don’t pan out because the overhead is too much, the patches / compatibility so complex, and the order fulfillment systems etc..
I studied marketing and said:
“Yo bro! You gotta make this motherfucka downloadable! And use AFFILIATES! – I don’t want to shrink wrap all these boxes and go to UPS for $50 when I know you are paying like $2000 per month overhead for office space to sell like 5 of these per month!”
Oh – There were orders – And TESTIMONIALS.
But it just wasn’t happening.
I am definitely interested in MUSIC and grew up on West Coast CA rap, classic rock etc…
Rap & Classic rock is about all I am into – I hate head-banger wanna-be satan white trash geek shit.
I mean – Actually a lot of it is ok. Even good.

Really. With the level of tech it is not that hard – At all – to have AWESOME music production capabilities – right there in your browser.
AND NO ONE WANTS TO TRY AND DO THIS STUFF ON A MOBILE DEVICE!
THERE IS NOT ONE GREAT BROWSER BASED AUDIO EDITING TOOL – MUSIC PRODUCTION SHOULD BE SIMPLE! – UNLIMITED!!
