Tactical Intelligence
Tactical intelligence is information about an enemy or an operational area that is directly relevant to planning and executing specific, short-term military missions or operations. It provides commanders with immediate insights to make decisions on the battlefield.

TECHNICAL DEFINITION
Tactical intelligence (TACINTEL) refers to time-sensitive, localized, and actionable information concerning adversary capabilities, intentions, and operational environments, derived from collection assets to support specific short-term military operations, mission planning, and real-time decision-making for tactical units.
BACKGROUND
Military intelligence is a military discipline that uses information collection and analysis approaches to provide guidance and direction to assist commanders in their decisions. This aim is achieved by providing an assessment of data from a range of sources, directed towards the commanders' mission requirements or responding to questions as part of operational or campaign planning. To provide an analysis, the commander's information requirements are first identified, which are then incorporated into intelligence collection, analysis, and dissemination.
