Planet operates approximately 200 Dove CubeSats in low Earth orbit capturing daily imagery of the entire landmass at 3-5 meter resolution, plus SkySat satellites providing 50cm resolution tasking. The architecture trades individual satellite capability for constellation scale — each Dove weighs 5kg and costs a fraction of traditional observation satellites, enabling rapid replacement and continuous coverage.
