ELINT

ELINT, or Electronic Intelligence, involves collecting and analyzing signals from non-communication sources like radar systems and missile guidance, to understand an adversary's electronic equipment and capabilities. It helps determine what enemy systems are, where they are, and what they can do.

TECHNICAL DEFINITION

Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) is a Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) discipline encompassing the collection, processing, analysis, and exploitation of non-communications electromagnetic radiation, primarily from foreign radar, navigation, and missile guidance systems, to ascertain their technical characteristics, operational patterns, and geographic locations for intelligence, targeting, and electronic warfare applications.

BACKGROUND

Since its establishment in 1948, the modern State of Israel has been involved in a series of military operations which all compose the military aspect of the complex Arab–Israeli conflict.
