Getir built dark stores — small urban warehouses optimized for high-turnover SKUs — and dispatch algorithms that route couriers to minimize delivery windows. The technology was never proprietary: Gorillas, Flink, Zapp, and a dozen other copycats launched identical models within 18 months. The defensibility was supposed to come from density and brand recognition, neither of which survived contact with actual unit economics.
