The Wafer-Scale Engine packs 4 trillion transistors across an entire 300mm silicon wafer, eliminating the memory bandwidth bottleneck that requires GPU clusters to communicate across PCIe lanes. Cerebras claims 100x faster training on large language models by keeping all weights on-chip. The CS-3 system draws 23 kilowatts per unit and requires liquid cooling infrastructure most data centers do not have.
