Alchemy provides node infrastructure, enhanced APIs, and developer tools that abstract away the complexity of reading and writing to blockchains. The core product is a managed node service that handles JSON-RPC requests at scale with better reliability than running your own infrastructure. The technology is competent but not proprietary — AWS launched Amazon Managed Blockchain in 2023 and QuickNode raised $60 million to build the same thing.
